I studied Chinese herbology as part of my Gung-Fu instruction. My teacher was a master of acupuncture but even so, he cannot practice in the USA. You have to be a licensed doctor!

The funny thing is he teaches acupuncture to medical students (because he is an expert) but will go to jail if he actually performs it on a real person! Isn't that crazy?

What I can say is that Chinese medicine takes a longer time to take effect. There are indeed good chinese sinsehs around. I have seen one or two good and very expensive ones.

You must have patience though. Quite a few courses of medicine is necessary before you could even feel any effect. And at the initial stage, when the medicine is adjusting your inner "chi", some discomfort could be felt like heatiness ... etc

I have not visited a Chinese Pysician or Sinseh for a very long time.
During my recent shingles, I stick with western medicine eventhough many asked me to go for a Chinese physician. :)
